Account and data deletion

You can request deletion of your Pest-Intel account and associated personal data without installing or signing in to the app.

Send a deletion request

  1. Email digitizemeglobal@gmail.com, preferably from your registered email address.
  2. Use the subject Pest-Intel account and data deletion.
  3. Include your username and registered email address. State whether you want your entire account deleted or only particular records removed. Identify the relevant farm, observation or message if requesting partial deletion.

Start an email deletion request

Do not send your password, authentication token, government identity documents or other sensitive credentials. We may request proportionate information to verify account ownership.

Verification and deletion schedule

Augustine Ofosu operates Pest-Intel as an independent service. We verify ownership using the registered email address and proportionate account information. The waiting period starts when we confirm that your request is verified. We tell you that date and your scheduled deletion date.

We wait 10 calendar days after verification and delete the account and associated personal data on day 11. You may withdraw the request during the waiting period by contacting us from your verified email address. You do not need to install the app, sign in or pay a fee to request deletion.

What we delete

For a full account deletion, we remove the account profile and authentication information, names, email and phone details, profile images, device notification tokens, and associated personal information in farm and farmer records, GPS coordinates, observations, diagnosis submissions, messages and uploaded photos, videos and voice recordings under our control. We remove or irreversibly de-identify your personal information in shared programme records. Merely disabling an account or marking it archived does not fulfil this policy. We also request deletion of associated personal data from service providers that processed it for us.

Limited retention and copies

Irreversibly anonymised research statistics may be retained because they no longer identify you. If a specific law or a necessary security or fraud investigation requires us to retain particular personal data, we explain the categories, reason and applicable retention period to you. Such data is restricted to that purpose and deleted when the requirement ends; there is no general exception allowing identifiable research records to be kept indefinitely.

We include backups and managed offline copies in the deletion process and prevent deleted data from being restored into active use. We tell you if a backup or an independently held copy cannot be erased on the scheduled date, why, and its applicable deletion schedule. We cannot remotely erase files already exported to a device outside our control; we will provide instructions and contact responsible recipients where appropriate. We confirm completion and identify any justified residual retention.

After deletion

Account access will end when deletion is completed. Remove any locally stored copies from your device as advised by support. Deleting or uninstalling the app alone does not delete server-side records.
